Kathy Strain grew up outside of Philadelphia and enjoyed listening to many genres of music including Broadway musicals. Music was always present in her home with her parents both being musicians. In a family of eight children, Kathy was the second youngest and most of her siblings were also musically inclined. There was always music playing or being played in the house. Kathy was involved in her middle school and high school choir and drama classes that influenced her continuing enjoyment of music and theater. She moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2001 where she raised three children with her husband Ken. They have a grandson who is four and a granddaughter who is under one. She was a non-traditional student and returned to college when her children were all in school. Kathy holds a degree in Communication/Public Relations from the University of Texas at San Antonio and also works at a local college instructing students in writing. She has enjoyed attending Broadway shows wherever she has lived. Kathy loves to contribute pieces on the arts and enjoys writing about talent and sharing it. She especially loves the opportunities to interview actors, singers, musicians, and dancers who share their passion for the arts. Attending shows and writing reviews is another amazing opportunity too.
Playing center stage at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Texas this week is the exhilarating LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. Starring George Hamilton as Georges and Christopher Sieber as Albin/ZaZa, this show was entertaining from start to finish. George Hamilton was intriguing as Georges and Christopher Sieber lit up as Albin/ZaZa. Each actor brought his own personality into the role which made the show even more intimate.
Christopher Sieber is currently playing the role of Albin/Zaza in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES on tour. Christopher's career has been unique and diverse. He has been on TV and Broadway and brings his own life's experiences to the role of Albin/Zaza. Christopher was also priviledged to play the role of Georges on Broadway. He is the only actor who has ever played both lead roles in LA CAGE. He shared his experiences and lessons he has learned over the years as a performer and details of his current role as Albin/Zaza.
I had a chance to sit down and chat with the guys and learn more about MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and the individuals who make the show spectacular.

A native San Antonion came to town this week. CAROL BURNETT, star of Broadway, television and film, returned to the Majestic Theatre where she has many fond memories. When she came onstage, it was like an old friend had come through the door for a visit. Carol's show was different than most shows. There wasn't any singing or dancing, but there was pure entertainment.
This week has a great show playing at the Bass Concert Hall in Austin, Texas. MARY POPPINS takes the stage and it is non-stop entertainment.
Rachel Wallace is currently touring with the first national tour of MARY POPPINS. Rachel is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She loved performing such shows as West Side Story and Sunday in the Park with George. Rachel was previously part of the ensemble of the company before taking over the lead in MARY POPPINS.
The latest Broadway show to hit the stage at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio Texas is BILLY ELLIOT, which ended its run yesterday, April 1. From the moment the lights dimmed, you couldn't help but be drawn into the story of struggle and survival as young Billy and his family worked through many issues. Many could relate to the struggles and emotions in this little family.
Today I am joined by Leah Hocking who is currently touring with BILLY ELLIOT playing the role of Mrs. Wilkinson. Leah performed with the original Broadway cast of BILLY ELLIOT as Billy's Mum. This time, she goes out on the road playing the role of Mrs. Wilkinson.
