With over fifteen years and six albums under their belt, California’s own Joyce Manor made their live TV debut and played two of their most beloved songs on ‘John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA’ last night live via Netflix. Personally requested by Mulaney, the band performed 2011’s stand out track “Constant Headache” and “Catalina Fight Song” from 2014’s ‘Never Hungover Again.’

Swamp Dogg has released “Ugly Man’s Wife,” the final pre-release single to be pulled from his forthcoming album Blackgrass: From West Virginia to 125th St out May 31 via Oh Boy Records. About the new single, Swamp Dogg explains: “I wrote ‘Ugly Man’s Wife’ with one of my favorite co-writers, Bob Jones, now deceased. I promised him that I would record it on my next album. Canadian Music Week (CMW), one of the nation’s largest new music festivals, is thrilled to announce the programming for its 42nd festival. Scheduled for June 1-8, 2024, the festival promises a dynamic range of music with over 250+ acts in over 25 venues in Toronto.

Netflix has announced that the comedy special Jo Koy: Live From Brooklyn will premiere globally on June 4, 2024. The special was filmed at The Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY in November 2023. This marks Koy’s fifth special with Netflix, following Live From The Los Angeles Forum (2022), Comin’ In Hot (2019),  and Live From Seattle (2017), in addition to his variety special In His Elements (2020). 

Snow Strippers have shared their new EP, Night Killaz Vol. 2, via Surf Gang Records. Since their debut singles in 2021, Snow Strippers have been dropping a series or mixtapes, EPs, a self-titled album. Cambridge University Press has recently released the rediscovered script for the 1926 Broadway production of The Great Gatsby. Long before the current musical adaptation, F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel came to the stage for the first time in 1926, playing at the Ambassador Theatre, which currently houses Chicago. The production, directed by filmmaker George Cukor (My Fair Lady) was successful, playing for 112 performances in New York before a national tour and later, a film.

Breakout singer-songwriter Max McNown has released a new music video for the sultry song “The Way I Wanna,” from his recently released debut album Wandering. Following his triumphant tours with Americana band Briscoe and Australian artist Blake Rose, McNown will soon be performing larger shows opening for some of country’s hottest stars and playing at festivals including Nashville’s Musician’s Corner and AmericanaFest.
