Recording Artist and former American Idol Finalist, Melinda Doolittle, will appear this month with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops as part of their "Holiday Pops 2012" program. Known for her soulful tones and bright spirits, Melinda will bring her signature vocal style to select performances with the legendary local orchestra. A frequent 'Pops' guest, Melinda appears in the annual pastime this year to provide guest vocals for a recording to be released at a later date. Miss Doolittle will appear for select performances on December 13th and 14th at Symphony Hall.

No stranger to a Holiday 'miracle', Miss Doolittle overcame the greatest adversity for a singer, as she was declared tone deaf as a child. After joining the youth church choir, Melinda eventually honed her tones and received a music degree from Belmont University in Nashville. There, she sustained a successful career as a backup singer to several legendary artists, before her propulsion to fame as a soloist on American Idol Season 6.

Boston Pops Holiday Series 2012 continues one of Boston's most beloved traditions. This year, Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops have embarked on a 37-concert series that continues through Monday, December 24th. Melinda Doolittle will perform with the Boston Pops for four performances on December 13th and 14th at 4pm and 8pm. The 8pm concert on Dec. 14th is sponsored by Commonwealth Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation. Holiday Pops tickets, beginning at $29, are available online at www.bostonpops.com.
