Sherri James Buxton will bring her show: Songs from the Great American Songbook to the Colonial on June 2 for one performance at 7 PM. Tickets for the performance are $35, $25, $15 or $55 if purchasing a VIP ticket, which includes preferred seating and post-performance reception catered by Shiro. From Gershwin and Berlin to Sondheim and The Beatles, Sherri James Buxton is an elegant interpreter of a wide range of genres from jazz standards to Broadway show tunes and more. She delights audiences with her warmth, depth, versatility and flawless technique. Songs include her single "Sweet Talkin' Guy." Sherri has appeared on and off Broadway, and in numerous Cabaret Venues. Nightclub and cabaret credits include The Ansonia Hotel's Continental Baths and Playstreet in New York City. She has been the opening act for performers like FrEddie Prinz, Jackie Mason and Rodney Dangerfield. She was featured as The Girl in the Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, was in the original Broadway production of Look to the Lilies and has performed at The Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Kansas City Starlight Theatre. Her musical theatre credits include Carousel, Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls, She Loves Me, Flower Drum Song and The King and I.
Special guest Matt Cusson is an award-winning singer-songwriter who has performed with James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera and Brian McKnight among many others. A self-taught piano and guitar player, his work crosses boundaries between R&B, soul, gospel, jazz, pop and rock. His self-titled debut solo CD has been well received throughout the industry and his jazz ballad "One of Those Nights" won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and Maxell Song of the Year.
