Magician BJ Hickman's Tuesday morning magic show for the Cochecho Arts Festival in Dover will mark 35 consecutive years performing for Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce events. "It's my longest running gig," boasts Hickman, "and I have added something new for this show. It's going to be fun."

Hickman was first booked by the Chamber in 1975 for shows during the Downtown Dover Summer Festival. He has also performed at several of Dover's Apple Harvest Days, and every Cochecho Arts Festival. "It is always a pleasure performing here in Dover," according to the long-time Dover resident and Manchester native. "Last year a child commented that their grandparents remembered enjoying my show when they were young. I can't think of a better way to make a living!"

The show is scheduled for 10:30, Tuesday, August 4 on stage at the Rotary Arts Pavilion, Henry Law Park in Dover.

Magician BJ Hickman entertains family audiences primarily throughout New England and occasionally elsewhere. He returns this fall for seven nights at Hollywood's Magic Castle.

The success of three instructional videotapes has earned him invitations to lecture at conferences and conventions for colleagues. He just returned from lecturing at The International Brotherhood of Magicians convention in Nashville.

In recent years, BJ has taken his experience to the domain of speaking for various groups. In his humorous keynote presentation or workshop, "PediaTRICKS.com," he instructs children's health care professionals about keeping patients comfortable and relaxed in the doctor's office.

With a background in advertising and communications, Hickman also works with a number of fellow performing artists and private businesses in their marketing and public relations efforts.

He and his family live in Dover.
