The award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) is tickled pink to present LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL. Having won over audiences across the nation, Elle, Bruiser and friends will make their NSMT debut for a two week limited engagement, opening Tuesday, November 1 -and playing through Sunday, November 13. Press night is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m.

"NSMT audiences are going to be overjoyed by Legally Blonde. This hysterical and sweet musical has all the charm of the original movie, and then injects it with non-stop, thrilling musical numbers," says NSMT's owner and producer, Bill Hanney. "Our talented director and choreographer, Nick Kenkel, assisted in the creation of the original Broadway production, and he is ready to infuse his own vision to give NSMT audiences a fresh new production unlike any they have seen before."

Based on the hit movie, LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL is a fresh and effervescent evening of musical fun, stylishly wrapped up in a smart pink bow! Elle Woods is the college sweetheart and homecoming queen who doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for someone ‘serious', Elle puts down the credit cards, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law School. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. This high-energy pop musical's fun and catchy score features music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and a hysterical book by Heather Hach.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL will star Kelly Felthous as Elle Woods. Kelly was last seen at NSMT starring in Singin' in the Rain in 2006. Kelly just returned from China where she performed at the Macau International Music Festival in Fame (Serena Katz). She also recently originated the role of Eva in the world premiere of Bring It On. Her National Tour/Off-Broadway credits include Grease, (Marty) and Seussical (Mayzie). The cast also features Gaelen Gilliland (Paulette), Barrett Hall (Emmett), Paul Jackel (Professor Callahan), Will Ray (Warner), Kate Loprest (Vivienne), Taryn Darr (Brooke), Tiffany Engen (Serena), Allysa Shorte (Pilar), Sara Andreas (Margot), and Trish LaRose (Enid).

The ensemble also includes Meredith Akins, Ian Campayno, Andrea Collier, Lani Corson, Vanessa Dunleavy, Brooke Engen, Timothy Hughes, Chris Matesevac, Joe Moeller, Kevin Pariseau, and Frankie Paparone,

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL will be directed and choreographed by Nick Kenkel. Nick's recent credits include associate directing and co-choreographing Peepshow in Las Vegas, as well as assistant choreographing Broadway's Legally Blonde and Catch Me If You Can. He has been seen performing on Broadway in Catch Me If You Can, Legally Blonde and The Wedding Singer, in Las Vegas in Peepshow, and at NSMT in Sweet Charity, Chicago and last season's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Earlier this year, Nick was named one of the "25 To Watch in 2011" by Dance Magazine and wil be seen laterthis season on Broadway in the revival of Evita starring Ricky Martin.
