URINETOWN INTERNATIONAL DANCE PROJECT / ACTS 12/7-12/16/2012
One of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years, URINETOWN
is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a
time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a Gotham-like city, a
terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a
government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use
public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits
by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the
people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead
them all to freedom!
Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, URINETOWN
is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from
scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical
could be, URINETOWN catapults the "comedic romp"? into
the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern
wit, and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.

JOSEPH...DREAMCOAT (93' U.K. TOUR W/OPTIONAL `MEGAMIX`) Turtle Lane Playhouse 12/7-12/30/2012
The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. He is purchased by Potiphar where thwarting advances from Potiphar's wife lands him in jail. When news of Joseph's gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh (wryly and riotously depicted as Elvis), Joseph is well on his way to becoming second in command. Eventually his brothers, having suffered greatly, unknowingly find themselves groveling at the feet of the brother they betrayed but no longer recognize. After testing their integrity, Joseph reveals himself leading to a heartfelt reconciliation of the sons of Israel. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.
This version of JOSEPH?DREAMCOAT features extended songs and dances. The Megamix is available as a separate rental with this version.

"Oh, the Thinks You Will Think" as the spirit of imagination transports the colorful characters from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. For this version, certain plot elements have been simplified, it is in one act, and runs approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes - perfect for presentation in schools. (See ADDITIONAL FACTS below for details) The story centers around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge--not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes "his kind and his powerful heart."
