Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston's CHRISTMASTIME Set for 12/7-16

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston has finalized casting for its annual holiday revue CHRISTMASTIME, now in its 30th edition. Broadway stars Sarah Pfisterer (Phantom of the Opera, Show Boat) and Rick Hilsabeck (Billy Elliot, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) return to Reagle after their highly acclaimed run in My Fair Lady this past summer to lead a cast of nearly 200 in this beloved musical spectacular. CHRISTMASTIME is scheduled for 10 performances only, December 7-16 at the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington Street, Waltham. The matinee on Sunday, December 9 at 1:00 pm is already sold out.

This joyous musical celebration presents all the comfort and joy of the season in heartwarming choral and dance numbers, beautiful costumes, and breath-taking custom scenery designed and painted by world renowned artist Robert Moody. Created and directed by Reagle’s founder and executive producer Robert Eagle, CHRISTMASTIME boasts a feast of timeless holiday favorites plus a full, live professional orchestra.

This year CHRISTMASTIME will offer the one chance for local lovers of precision tap dancing to see the remarkable Parade of the Wooden Soldiers made famous by the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. With the express permission of Radio City Music Hall Productions, Reagle Music Theatre is one of very few organizations allowed to perform the trademarked choreography.

Sarah Pfisterer is a Reagle favorite who has starred with the company in Beauty and the Beast, Carousel, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, The Will Rogers Follies, The King and I and The Sound of Music. She has earned five IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) Award nominations and has won twice for Carousel and The Sound of Music. Off-Broadway Pfisterer received critical acclaim for her star turn as Anna Smith in Meet Me in St. Louis, and when the national tour of Phantom of the Opera played in Chicago she was nominated for the prestigious Joseph Jefferson Award. A Metropolitan Opera semi-finalist, Pfisterer has starred as the tragic romantic heroine Christine Daaé in more than 1000 performances of Phantom on Broadway and nationwide.

Rick Hilsabeck has distinguished himself as an actor, singer, dancer and teacher for more than 30 years, starring on Broadway, in national tours, and around the globe. He began his professional stage career right after high school as a member of the Academy Award-winning singing group The Young Americans in Los Angeles. Later he became the first male principal dancer with the acclaimed Hubbard Street Dance Company in Chicago, appearing in two PBS-TV specials. Hilsabeck’s career as a major triple threat was cemented when he was hand-picked by legendary director Hal Prince to lead the First National Company of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera. On tour Hilsabeck donned the famous Phantom mask for more than 1200 performances and earned a nomination for Chicago’s prestigious Joseph Jefferson Award.

The multi-generational cast includes soloists Jean Grace of Belmont; Greta DiGiorgio of Jamaica Plain; Paul Marchesiani of Stoneham; Buddy Bergeron of Waltham; and Jean-Alfred Chavier of West Roxbury. Marchesiani, Chavier, Gary Vincent of Bedford and Herb Philpott of Waltham also make up Reagle’s close-harmony barbershop quartet. Featured dancers are Waltham High School freshman BriAnna Maguire as Clara and Scott Abreu of Waltham as the Bear Captain. Abreu won critical acclaim as Paul in this past summer’s production of A Chorus Line at Reagle Music Theatre.
