Show Synopsis: The Carlisle Hotel is one of London’s oldest luxury hotels. For decades, it had been a tourist destination, garnering the attention of travelers from all corners of the globe. The Carlisle boasts accommodations from the £2,000 per night rooms for jet-setting businessmen to the £10,000 a night Windsor suites for foreign royalty and dignitaries. Reginald Pennyworth, the hotel’s proprietor and concierge, has stood at the helm for nearly two decades, keeping the daily doings in a clockwork-like manner. Yet, with the global economy recently trending downward and the increasing maintenance costs of the aging structure, the Carlisle Hotel is more than feeling the financial crunch. Of course, it doesn’t help that the bank constantly reminds Mr. Pennyworth that the hotel is dangerously close on defaulting on the new mortgage he took out to fix up the place. When terrible news arrives that could all but put the Carlisle out of business, can Mr. Pennyworth and his wife, Camille, pull off a harebrained scheme, with the help of the hotel staff, to save the hotel that has been in his family for generations? Or will the staff of the Carlisle need to search the classifieds for a new line of work?
