On Sunday May 17 at Catalina Jazz Club renowned actress/singer Michele Lee made her Los Angeles cabaret debut. Why has it taken this long? She takes her one-woman show Catch the Light on the road regularly and recently played 54 Below in NYC, but has never played a club in her hometown of LA. She made her way through the audience singing the powerhouse 'Feeling Good', and with a combination of incredible drive and energy, an uber strong vocal style and sheer sauciness and personal sass, Lee's conquest of the room was guaranteed. OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK announces JUNE 2014 programming highlights

The Julie Harris Scholarship has been established by friends of the six-time Tony Award winning actress and Yale School of Drama alumna in memory of her life and career. The scholarship, which will provide annual support to an actor studying at the School of Drama, was announced by fellow alumna Joan van Ark at a memorial service at Broadway's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on December 3.

Today, December 3rd at 12 noon, friends and colleagues gathered in celebration of Tony-winning actress Julie Harris at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on 242 West 45th Street. Among those at the celebration were Zoe Caldwell, RoseMary Harris, Cherry Jones, Joan van Ark?, HAl Holbrook and Christopher Plummer.

This September, a cast of Hollywood stars will take the stage for special ensemble readings of Act 1 of Surviving Grace, an original play penned by comedy writer Trish Vradenburg ('Designing Women,' 'Family Ties,' 'Kate and Allie'), co-founder of USAgainstAlzheimer's a national advocacy organization committed to stopping Alzheimer's by 2020. Based on Trish's experience as a caregiver to her mother who died of Alzheimer's in 1992, Surviving Grace is a brutally honest, irreverent and moving story laced with humor that sheds light on the emotional ups and downs that 15.4 million Alzheimer's caregivers go through each day in the U.S. The play comes to California after being produced at The Kennedy Center, off-Broadway, cross-country and in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The first star-studded reading was at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC last fall.

Tribes celebrated its Opening Night on Sunday, March 10 at the Mark Taper Forum. Written by Nina Raine, the CTG and Barrow Street Theatre production is directed by David Cromer in the play's West Coast Premiere. Celebrities such as Guillermo Diaz, Jonathan Groff, Deidre Hall, Ian Harding, Jane Kaczmarek, Alan Mandell, Ron Perlman, Jeff Perry, Nina Raine (playwright), Peter Roth, Joan Van Ark and Charlayne Woodard attended the opening festivities, and BroadwayWorld has photos below!
