Gabbay Madu BIO

Gabriela "Gabbay" Madu is an Afro-Latina actor, stage manager and sound designer. After growing up in Montego Bay, Jamaica she moved to the U.S and graduated with a BA in Theatre and Computer Science from Monmouth College. She is an Irene Ryan Semi-Finalist and a Four-Time Nominee, a Regional Finalist and the Alternate Winner of the Musical Theatre Intensive (MTI) Open Jar Institute National Musical Theatre Scholarship in 2022. She also read for the lead in the staged reading Displace by Zoha Bharwani, which won an award for Playwriting at The Kennedy Centre American College Theatre Festival- Region 3 (KCACTF) in 2020. In 2023, she competed once again at KCACTF and was a regional finalist for Dance in The Musical Theatre Intensive(MTI) as well as in The Design, Technology and Management (DTM) Expo. She received the RED in DTM award, The Marvin Sims Fellowship Nomination and is the Honorable Mention recipient of the KCACTF Award for Theatrical Excellence for her Sound Design in Romeo and Juliet.
